Shaman Dance Theatre
Project Info
Shaman is a dance organisation that specializes in Anatolian dances. They are an eclectic and enthusiastic group that blend Turkish folk dance with modern dance in their show. Since they both dance and tell a narrative throughout their show, they describe themselves as a "dance theatre". I designed their logo as a mask with a dancing figure in the middle, therefore blending the symbols of "theatre" and "dance" in one image. The style of the logo and the colours are influenced by old Turkish rugs, giving the identity a unique cultural flair.

Misspent: For Six Years Later Magazine
A couple of months ago "Six Years Later", a newly-formed Australian magazine contacted me for their first issue and asked if I would be interested to send them some of my work since the theme of the issue would be 'consumerism'. At first, I thought about sending them some pages from my book, but the format was completely different so I decided to do something new. I prepared a design consisting of three spreads, titled "Understanding Consumerism", and focused on the effects of consumerism on three aspects; namely, The Rich, The Poor and Nature. I used the existing information from my previous research.
At the end, these spreads haven't been used because of the limited space the magazine had. But I still wondered how they would look once printed, and prepared these mock-ups.
The final magazine includes my poster instead (as well as brilliant artwork from 47 other artists) and it is awesome. 2010 Editorial Design, Graphic Design, Typography -
Misspent: The Poster
This is a promotional poster I designed, inspired by and as a follow-up to my final master project: Misspent. The idea is to show people how we mindlessly spend too much money instead of using it for more socially rewarding projects. It is screenprinted with great care by the talented folks at Get a Grip. I used 270 gsm Colorplan Ebony as the stock and the design is composed of 3 spot inks. Limited edition of 60.

Misspent: The Book
The world is changing. We live in a much different world than our ancestors did one hundred years ago. The Industrial Revolution changed a lot of things. Economies of the countries grew bigger and bigger as the consumption snowballed. But the world is a closed system. We have finite amount of money. In a closed system if someone prospers, someone else must flounder. In our modern times, almost half of the world -over three billion people- live on less than $2.5 a day. One child out of two lives in poverty. Yet, with just a small percentage of the money spent for arms industry each year, we can solve all of the developing countries' basic problems.
My project is all about this situation. The name speaks for itself: MISSPENT "Where does the money flow, where should the money flow?"... It is a book that aims to inform people about the huge amounts of money we spend every year, and what can be done with just a fraction of it.

Faber Film Book Covers
This project was my entry for D&AD Student Awards 2009. The brief was to design the covers of Faber Film series of books which were printed on demand (POD). Instead of focusing on titles of the books, I gave a number to each book in the series and this number is used as the center design element; thus giving Faber Film a very strong series identity. There is also a special ligature for each sub-series, and the publishing credits are placed at the bottom of the cover in the style of a movie poster.

Packaging Design for Pepsi
I designed this can in 2005 for a national design competition sponsored by Pepsi. My strategy for this project was directly connected with Pepsi's slogan at the time: "Ask for more". It was: "If you want more, make Pepsi your start point." I was awarded 1st prize at the competition. Pepsi produced 2 million of these cans and sold them as a special edition.

Global War?ming Poster
Can global warming cause a global war? If we don't stop overconsuming world's resources, it is probable. Global warming affects many vital agricultural and industial areas of the world. If we can't stop it, a combination of reasons ranging from migration to increasing provision prices might heavily affect global economy - in extreme circumstances causing another big war.
